At Hampton Heights International School, we believe that leadership, responsibility, and community are essential values to nurture from an early age. That’s why the much-awaited Student Council Elections for the Primary Section, covering students from FS to Year 6, were such a highlight of the school year! On January 8th, 2025, our young learners took part in an unforgettable election day that was filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and a sense of excitement.

The event wasn’t just about casting votes—it was an immersive experience that allowed our students to explore what it means to be a leader and understand the importance of democracy. From FS to Year 6, candidates campaigned with passion, presenting their ideas, values, and vision for the school in ways that truly showcased their leadership potential. Their campaigns were nothing short of inspiring, from designing vibrant posters and writing catchy slogans to delivering compelling speeches that captured the hearts of their peers.

Our student candidates certainly didn’t hold back when it came to creativity. With bright, colorful posters displayed throughout the school and speeches full of enthusiasm, each candidate worked hard to make their voices heard. The ideas ranged from improving playground facilities and organizing exciting events to creating more inclusive spaces for everyone in school. Every speech and campaign was a reflection of the leadership potential that exists within our students and their deep desire to make Hampton Heights a better place for all.

A Transparent and Thrilling Voting Process

On election day, the entire school buzzed with energy as students took on the responsibility of voting in a fair and transparent process. Teachers and staff worked hard to ensure that the election was conducted with integrity, while our students showed great maturity in casting their votes. Each vote mattered, and the process itself gave our students a meaningful lesson in democracy and the importance of making informed choices.

There was a tangible sense of excitement as students stood in line, discussing their choices with one another, and eagerly awaiting the chance to vote for their preferred candidates. It was an incredible moment for everyone involved, as young learners learned how their voices could make a difference in shaping their school environment.
